INFORMATION:
Another
view across the now airfield. History : later
on in the war there was a need to find safe locations to store aircraft
built but not yet needed by the front line units. The RAF worked
on 'every aircraft in service there was one
in storage and one being built'. Everleigh was ideal as it
has a large landing area, is away from any built-up areas and plenty
of woodland to hide aircraft. Above : arrow showing where the picture was taken and one of the dispersed site .
