History : there were four Blister hangars, runways of Somerfeld tracking & hardstands for 36 aircraft and over 1000 personnel in temporary accommodation. The airfield was purely used as a support airfield for the run up to and past D-day and then the aircraft left for Normandy and the airfield was then returned to farming.
