INFORMATION:

There are two ways of seeing Harwell, first you can park on the hill south of the village (blue road) just off the A34 dual carriageway or drive past the main gate. I did not go onto the site, it is now the Atomic Energy Research Establishment or Harwell International Business Centre.
An RAF expansion scheme aerodrome opened in 1937 with four type C hangars of which I think one survives. There were between 45/53 mostly large circular dispersals.
