INFORMATION:

History : RAF Turweston opened in 1942 as a bomber Operational Training Unit with 12 OTU from 92Group RAF. They used Wellington's and Anson's.
1943 and 13 OTU arrived with Mitchells.
Also No.17 OTU Gunnery Flight used Turweston to train air gunners with Martinets as target towing aircraft.
Turweston closed in 1945 like a most wartime airfields but MOD retained it until the 80's/90's but now it has been returned to agriculture and private flying.
