INFORMATION:
History : after the capitulation of France, Brest became an important U-boat base. A large concrete bunker kept the U-boats safe from bombing. The Kriegsmarine needed defence against attack from the sea and this and several other gun batteries were laid out strategically around the port of Brest. As bombing increased the open emplacements needed aerial protection and casemates were starting to be built over the guns. This one an SK type, no type number ("SK" bunker = (Sonder konstruktion) Special construction.
