INFORMATION:

The small building behind the cupola was a prison for British sailors in the Napoleonic wars. Behind is Wn144 La Pernelle Observatoires Church and to the left is a very nice restaurant with a very nice view.

There would have been a periscope running up through the centre of the cupola.
