INFORMATION:

Quetta huts were often built as a very quick solution to the problem of housing airfield defence troops in the early years of the war. They were made from Jute fabric soaked in concrete and left to dry hard. Pre cast posts and a hole in the roof for a chimney to go through. There would have been walls but on this one they have been removed post war. I have seen three other examples in Hampshire, two at RAF Middle Wallop and one at RAF Andover.
