Another view from Arne is Corfe Castle.
Built after the Norman invasion of 1066, Corfe lasted complete until we had a little civil war. Yes even England had one. Oliver Cromwell placed guns on both hills either side and tried to blast the owners out. After capture it was blown up to stop any Royalist using it again.
