History : August 1942 the Americans came here with their Bomber Command Transport. Units came and went. Late 1942 to July 1943 HGC unit from RAF Brize Norton. July 1943 RAF Andover took over with 15 (P) AF unit. 1943 the runways were still not completed properly. August 1943 the Americans come back, USAAF Support Command.
