INFORMATION:

All airfields carried sufficient stocks of fuel for its planes and here is one of the storage areas, there was also a very large tank over on the west side as well, a total of 35,000 gal.

Above: the large bulk fuel tank on the western side of the airfield yellow square. Yellow arrow is the perimeter track.

I believe this area was an E type fighter pen in 1940 and turned into a fuel installation later.
