INFORMATION:

Details of the perimeter track showing the gutter and how well made this pavement is. The main roadway and this gutter in very good condition and smooth and has no frost damage like most airfield concrete.

The drain gratings are situated about every 80ft. Considering the length of all the runways and perimeter tracks there must have been hundreds of gratings made for Ford alone.

Made by Mather & Smith of Ashford in Kent and are still manufacturing iron work.
