INFORMATION:

The Spitfire fought its last battle over Dorchester and the pilot bailed out successfully leaving the damaged plane to continue on. It flew 16miles and then crashed into the river bank. The Lady in the light blue coat arrived at the crash site as a child after school and said the tail unit was missing. The RAF team arrived later and recovered what matériel’s they could.
