INFORMATION:

Piddlehinton Army Camp was requisitioned by the War Department in 1937. The land was compulsorily purchased for £31 an acre from Philip Tory. It was supposed to be returned to agricultural use after the emergency but this did not happen. The camp made a huge impact on the village. Now its used as a business park for small and medium sized companies.
