Set in sand dunes at the rear of Stella Plage a batterie of 15.5cm Field Howitzers. Their job was to cover the beach area to he south of Stella Plage.

The yellow square is a Wellblech shelter.
The large building was built after the war and has now been completely removed and a new housing estate fills the space.

As you can see they were all built on sand dunes.
March 2024 and a house has been built and there is no access.

The extended flank allowing earth (sand here) can be built up the sides as a camouflage and extra protection from attack.
Also the hooks made by not cutting off the square mesh steel reinforcement and bent over so the nets could be hooked on.
