Starting off at one of the main sites, there are many Temporary Brick buildings left and right down this road.
History : Building the airfield started in 1941 and was completed by 1942. Built as an 'A' class bomber station. The domestic site was built to accommodate 2007 male and 246 female personnel.

History: The 453rd left for RAF Merryfield, Dorset for D-day and then became a glider modification station where Waco CG4As.

Pillbox - 'NO' - Water Supply
INFORMATION:
I thought I had found a new type of pillbox but alas no its a water pump house. The local garden canter still use the well to extract water. There may have been a large water tower somewhere around here.
History: September 1944 the 441st TCG arrived with 90 C-47s in to participate in the Operation `Market' Garden in Holland.

Squash Court
The squash court and left and right are many hut bases (now used by the garden centre for green houses).
History: In October 1944, No. 1669 Heavy Conversion Unit arrived with some 30 Lancaster's. This organization remained until March 1945.

Another good view of the squash court (building 30). The FV432's were not left overs from the RAF though.
History: The airfield continued to be used by Avro for the repair of Lancaster's. In fact practically all the flying activity at Langar during the rest of 1945 and until the airfield closed in December 1946. Avro stayed on with its operation, retaining the workshops complex.

Projector room with original doors.
History: About 1951 the Canadians arrived with there contribution to NATO. Extensive construction work took place to provided better accommodation and other facilities. The RCAF made Langar their primary supply base in Europe and their link between Canada and their fighter airfields in Britain and on the Continent. They remained at Langar for some 11 years and a variety of air transports visited during that period, including Bristol Freighters, North Stars, Expeditors and the ubiquitous Dakotas. The Canadians departed in 1963,

Memorial to 207 Squadron RAF
207 Squadron flew from Langar from 21st September 1942 to 13th October 1943.
