BERNHARD KLOSTERKEMPER Commander of the 920th Infantry-Regiment (00 Jan 1944-06 June 1944) then with the death of General Wilhelm Falley, he was transferred to take charge of the 91st Luft-Landing Div. 06 June - 10th June 1944. He went on to command 243rd I.D. and then a Staff appointment. He was captured in My 1945 and release 1947.

When the war did reach them around the 20th June, they started to retreat north, either to Cherbourg or into Cap de la Hague area until either killed or captured. 243rd Div strength on the 6th June 1944 was 11,500 men, by 11th July 1944 they were down to 3,340 men.
