Information

Ra149 Plage du Perron.

Details

The first level of defences were trenches and dugouts not unlike WW1, then when the Feste St Malo was started two artillery fire points were laid out facing S/W. Two R504 gun bunkers were added to allow better shelter for the troops and the guns from aerial attack. Later two gun casemates were added to keep the guns under concrete so they could take fire and also give fire. The guns that were inside the R504's could be run out to firing points set up to cover the S/W.

A very well constructed bunker to fit into its surroundings and covered in sand and grass, this may have been completed by the Golf groundsman rather than the OT workers.
