R612 casemate flanking wall.
This wall covers the embrasure from direct fire from the sea, say from a ship shooting at it. The gun angled to fire down the beach and not out to sea to hit landing craft from dropping their loads.

We did not find the second R612 but a lot of work has been going on to protect the sand dunes from the sea and this may have been part of the R612´s flanking wall?? Looking again I cannot be at all sure. Another visit I suppose is now due.
